ENGAGEMENT
Using social media to drive brand awareness and engage with audiences is something I’m really passionate about. In my career thus far, I’ve deployed strategies and tactics to increase digital product, content, social and editorial programs.

Successes include:

  • Launched Kendra Thornton’s Twitter following which generated a 200% increase in followers over 2 months
    • Launched and promoted Kendra’s travel blog KendraThorntonTravel.com
    • Assisted in the redesign of travel agency Royal Travel’s website
    • Launched the Instagram account for Kendra Thornton Travel which generated 6K followers in three months
    • Created editorial calendars to follow-up on social media and blog content posting timeline
  • Filmed, edited and promoted content for the Kentucky Wildcats TV YouTube channel to increase viewership by 21M
    • Collaborated with various athletic departments to ensure consistent coverage of content
  • Developed strategic social media campaigns to engage audiences for global brands
    • Reynolds Consumer Brands
      • Launched a new web design for Hefty including a consumer engagement platform titled ‘Handy Hints
      • Developed digital product, content, social and editorial programs
    • Skittles
      • Distributed product to celebrity influencers to increase brand awareness on social media
        • Had a 95% success rate with online engagement
      • Led and participated in team meetings and brainstorming sessions to target potential social influencers to engage with online to drive brand awareness
      • Was in charge of gathering data to report the success of outreach to present to the client

      • Developed info graphics to distribute as part of a promotional effort to increase revenue

      • Discussed engagement goals over client conference calls
      • Created campaign to make Orbit Gum the official gum partner of National Coffee Day
    • Increased FOX19 NOW’s social media following by 25% on Facebook and 45% on Twitter in 5 months in order to increase engagement and ad revenue
      • Did so by increasing response rate, incorporating new tools and building audiences through emerging social platforms
        • Engaged with users on a broad scale and individually when needed
      • Developed galleries, listicles and polls to increase relativity among online community
    • Broke the story of the shooting death of Harambe at the Cincinnati Zoo for FOX19 NOW on Facebook, which earned over 400K impressions with 1.2K shares and 360 comments
    • Launched the inaugural AutFest International Film Festival’s social media presence, which earned over 500K impressions in 4 weeks. The official #AutFest hashtag was used over 500 times and earned over 5.1M impressions.
      • Created a celebrity/social influencer campaign to promote the event
      • Increased event awareness with a ticket giveaway
      • Designed and launched a custom Snapchat geofilter, which was used over 3K times in two days
    • Engaged with international audiences during the Make Up and Hair Stylist Awards, which earned earned over 234K impressions. The official #MUAHSawards hashtag earned over 7M impressions.
